Huvitz MRK-3100P Premium Auto-Refractor & Keratometer
Fast, precise measurements of your prescription and corneal shape
The Huvitz MRK-3100P is a computerized diagnostic instrument that provides an accurate starting point for your eye exam. In just a few seconds, it measures how light focuses in each eye to estimate refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
It also performs keratometry, measuring the curvature of the cornea—the clear front surface of the eye. These measurements help your optometrist evaluate astigmatism, assess contact-lens suitability, and fine-tune your final prescription. The test is quick, comfortable, and completely non-contact: simply rest your chin and look at the target.
Reichert CT-60 Computerized Tonometer
A comfortable eye-pressure screening
The Reichert CT-60 is a computerized non-contact tonometer used to measure intraocular pressure (IOP), or the pressure inside your eyes. Monitoring eye pressure is an important part of a comprehensive eye-health examination because unusually high pressure can be associated with glaucoma.
This test uses a brief, gentle puff of air—there are no eye drops, needles, or instruments touching your eye. The CT-60 records measurements quickly and comfortably, giving your optometrist valuable information to interpret alongside the rest of your examination.
Zeiss Slit Lamp Biomicroscope
A detailed close-up examination of your eye health
The slit lamp is one of the most important instruments in a complete eye-health exam. Combining high magnification with a precisely controlled beam of light, it allows your optometrist to examine your eyes in exceptional detail.
Using the slit lamp, your optometrist can assess the eyelids, tear film, cornea, iris, lens, and other structures at the front of the eye. It helps identify and monitor concerns such as dry eye, allergies, irritation, infection, corneal changes, cataracts, and contact-lens-related issues. This advanced microscope makes it possible to see details that cannot be assessed during a standard vision test alone.

The Linear VT-8 phoropter is the precision lens system used during the familiar “Which is clearer—one or two?” portion of your exam. It allows your optometrist to compare lens options in tiny increments and refine your prescription based on both clinical measurements and your real visual comfort.
